My journey as a storyteller began long before Maya Ortiz started hunting monsters in the shadows of New Harbor. It started with a traditionally published historical romance back in 2009 (sadly lost to the pre-ebook era!), but my true passion lies in crafting worlds where the impossible feels inevitable and characters face choices that test everything they believe about themselves.

You might wonder how someone with degrees in Psychology and Criminology ended up writing about vampires, dimensional entities, and ancient conspiracies. The truth is, understanding what drives people—their fears, desires, and moral breaking points—is essential whether you’re analyzing criminal behavior or creating characters who must choose between their humanity and saving the world.

From my writing desk in South Africa (usually with my cats Maya and Nacho providing “editorial assistance”), I love exploring the spaces where mystery meets magic, where romance blooms in the most dangerous circumstances, and where ordinary people discover extraordinary power within themselves.
